Hounds, Trouts dominate
The UQ Hounds proved that they will be the team to beat in the 2010 URLQ competition thanks to a 36-4 hammering of the Griffith Dragons at Nathan last Wednesday night.
In a replay of the 2009 URLQ grand final, the Hounds dominated the home side from the opening kick-off, racing in four first half tries to leave an impressive Dragons outfit stunned at the main break.[MORE]
2010 URLQ Season Kicks Off
An all new season of the URLQ kicked off on Wednesday night, with the 2010 season welcoming the return of a Gold Coast Griffith University team.
The QUT Trouts beat the UQ Hounds 32 – 12 in the opening round of the 2010 university competition, with UQ Gatton unfortunately regretfully forfeiting their first round match to the Griffith Dragons.

Darren Smith to Coach Maroons
Universities Rugby League Queensland (URLQ) is pleased to announce the acquisition of former International Darren Smith as the Coach of the 2010 Queensland Universities rugby league team.
A veteran of 290-NRL games, Smith will take over the reigns from the talented Paul Srama during this season’s Interstate campaign, with the experience of the former Bulldogs and Broncos star sure to strengthen the credentials of the champion Maroons side.
