The UQ Hounds have kept their undefeated record intact thanks to a 52-4 hammering of the QUT Trouts on Wednesday night.
After a long mid-semester break, the Hounds were eager to get back onto the field and continue their winning form, with the high-flying Hounds posting their first of ten tries inside the opening two minutes.
Flashy winger Callum Page crossed for a first half hat-trick, before the Trouts scored just before the break, but it was one way traffic in the second half for the rampant Hounds.
Tom Lawler finished with a personal tally of 16 points thanks to a try and 6 goals, while five-eighth David Hill was a standout performer in both attack and defence.
The Griffith Dragons have moved into second place on the URLQ ladder courtesy of their 38-6 victory over the USQ Ironbarks.
Jonathan Fraser capped off a great match, scoring a try and booting five goals, with Ben Schofield, Tim O'Brien and Tim Al Sam all crossing for try-scoring doubles.
URLQ Managaement decided mid-week to declare the Round 7 URLQ matches as wash-outs, with all teams sharing the two competition points. |
