Queensland would like to congratulate Maroons representatives Matt Francis and Nuku Hifo on their selection in the South East Queensland Kookaburras representative team that will contest the QRL Divisional Carnival in Gatton this weekend.
After playing a significant role in the Queensland Universities teams thrashing of their
New South Wales counterparts last month, Francis and Hifo have been further rewarded for their consistent efforts with their second representative jerseys of the season.
For hooker Francis, selection in the Kookaburras team goes someway to ease the disappointment of missing out on a spot in the Australian Universities Rugby League Team which will contest the Students World Cup in
Brisbane in July, with most pundits shocked that the spritely Maroons number nine was overlooked by national selectors.
And the selection of Hifo caps off a stellar season for the versatile backrower, with the Burleigh Bears FOGS Cup player rewarded for some eye-catching displays this season.
On behalf of everyone at the URLQ – good luck and best wishes!
