The UQ Hounds and the USQ Ironbarks share joint competition lead after two rounds of the 2008 Universities Rugby League (URLQ) competition.
The Hounds remain the only undefeated team so far in season ’08, with the visiting Hounds outfit outlasting a spirited and injury decimated UQ Bulls side, 18-14.
With the Hounds holding a slight 10-6 half-time advantage, the Bulls charged away to a 14-10 advantage midway through the second stanza, before the loss of three players through injury allowed the Hounds to snatch a late victory.
Bulls fullback Wyatt Propsting (head), hooker Tom Crothers (ankle) and prop Brett Wolens were all taken to hospital for precautionary check-ups, allowing the Hounds to cross for a late try to Tim Sladden to secure the crucial two competition points.
In the other Round 2 match, the Griffith University Dragons made up for a lacklusture round one performance by recording a crushing 26-4 victory over the QUT Trouts at
